Looking for a simple, yet delicious snack to make? Then you need to try these delicious almond florentines! These nutty florentine bars tastes better than any other almond snack you can make!
What are almond florentines:
This almond flake florentine recipe consists of just two ingredients – florentine flour (florentine mix) and sliced almonds. It’s such an easy dish to make that takes less than 15 minutes!
The florentine powder can be tricky to find – most supermarkets don’t sell it, but you might be able to find it in a baking-specific store. I know in Singapore you can find it at Phoon Huat – they have loads of store locations around Singapore. If you can’t find it in your area, you can order it from Amazon.
How to make this almond florentine biscuits:
You simply just need to mix the florentine powder with the almond slices. There are multiple ways to bake these almond florentine bars. In the youtube video below I’ve shown you three options to make these florentine almond cookies:
Option one: Using a muffin tin
To consistently get the same round-shaped florentine cookies, you can use a muffin tin. After mixing the florentine mix with the almonds, you just need to pour about one tablespoon in a muffin tin. Bake this in a preheated oven for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown at 160 degrees Celsius.
Option 2: Using a cookie cutter
If you don’t have a muffin tin, you can use a cookie cutter instead. Pour roughly one tablespoon in each cookie cutter before removing it. If you want to even out the almond florentine brittle, lightly shake the cookie cutter before removing it. Bake this in a preheated oven for 7-8 minutes or until golden brown at 160 degrees Celsius.
Option 3: Using a regular baking tray
Pour all the contents on a baking tray and even it out. Bake this in a preheated oven for 7-8 minutes or until golden brown at 160 degrees Celsius. Once baked, cut the florentine almond biscuits into smaller, bite-sized pieces. Ensure you cut the almond florentines before it fully cools or they might crack.
Alternative ingredients:
You could add some chocolate, dried fruits or other nuts to these almond florentine cookies but they’re not essential. Using just these two ingredients will give you some delicious almond florentines!
Why you should try this dish:
This almond florentine tray bake recipe is very different from your typical snacks. Because of its simplicity, it’s a good recipe to follow and difficult to get wrong. It’s a great snack to serve that you can’t just find in a supermarket.
How to store these almond florentines:
To store, simply place the almond florentines in an airtight container. The almond florentines are very delicate and don’t need to be refrigerated.
