If you’re looking for a simple and easy meal to make for a quick lunch break, then this chicken caesar wrap recipe is perfect for you. The best part of this recipe is that it only really has three basic ingredients: chicken, tortilla wrap and caesar salad sauce. The rest of the ingredients and vegetables is up to you.

What is a chicken caesar wrap?

A chicken caesar wrap essentially has the same qualities of a simple chicken caesar salad. The only difference is that it usually doesn’t have any crispy croutons, and the contents is neatly packed into a tortilla wrap.

What ingredients you need:

The main ingredients to use in this chicken caesar wrap are rotisserie chicken (or whatever leftover chicken you have in your fridge), tortilla wrap, lettuce and caesar sauce. I like to add whatever vegetables I happen to have in my fridge – this includes carrots, avocado, tomatoes and cucumber.

I personally love to shred the chicken into smaller pieces and mix it with caesar sauce before adding it to the wrap. Before I wrap the tortilla wrap, I also like to add a few more drops of caesar sauce over the vegetables – this really makes the wrap tastier and less dry.

If you want to make the wrap less dry, you can also spread a thin layer of Philadelphia or cream cheese on the wrap before you put the chicken and the vegetables on top.

Why I like this dish:

I only started eating chicken caesar salad around two years ago, and I only started to eat chicken caesar salad wraps in 2019. It became an expensive habit to buy a chicken caesar wrap from my university’s supermarket everyday, so I ultimately decided to try and make my own wraps from scratch and I’ve been obsessed with them ever since.

Why you should try this chicken caesar wrap:

It’s just such a delicious dish that takes minimal effort but will definitely keep you satisfied when you’re busy at work or in between lectures. The majority of this recipe is based on the vegetables you have readily available in your fridge – this makes it easier for you to meal prep without any hassle of buying every single ingredient like most other recipes require you to.

What to serve with a chicken caesar wrap?

You can serve chicken caesar wraps on its own – the tortilla wrap and all the ingredients can be enough to keep you going. Alternatively, you can serve some créme fraîche and chives vegetable dip as a side dish – that’s another easy and simple recipe to make and is a healthier snack option.

How simple is this dish:

Making this dish from home is a lot simpler than you might think. The main steps are seasoning and cooking the chicken in the oven, and cutting up various vegetables. Cooking the chicken takes around 20-30 minutes depending on your oven, but you can spend that time chopping up all the vegetables you want to use.

Once you have all the ingredients ready, the wrap takes less than 5 minutes to make. I’d recommend you place the content of the wrap in the middle and fold the left and right side of the wrap over the contents first before you tightly roll the wrap.

Are chicken caesar wraps healthy?

A chicken caesar salad is definitely a healthier meal to make. The chicken and the various vegetables you add to the wrap are all healthy – the least healthy part of this recipe is the caesar dressing. You can choose to not use any caesar dressing to make your wrap even healthier.

Hints and Tips:

  • To make the chicken tastier, you can mix the chicken pieces with some caesar sauce before putting it in the wrap.

  • To make the wrap less dry, you can spread a thin layer of Philadelphia or cream cheese on the wrap before you add the chicken and the vegetables

  • This recipe also works with leftover chicken. I’ve explained how to cook the chicken, but you can easily save time and use leftover chicken if you have it readily available.
